MCA’s program on October 22, 2013 featured a demonstration of robotic and small demolition equipment presented by Maverick Cutting and Breaking and Frattalone Companies, Inc. During the session small traditional breaking equipment alongside robotic equipment provided by Maverick Cutting and Breaking was used to demonstrate demolition on pieces of reinforced concrete. The Minnesota legislature recently made considerable changes to the tax structure. Some specifically affect the operations of construction contractors, including changes to sales and use tax and estate and gift tax. The Minnesota Department of Transportation ("MnDOT") has completely re-written its book of Standard Specifications, including Division I dealing with changes, schedules, time extensions, claims, compensation, and definitions of key terms. If you work on MnDOT projects, as a prime contractor or as a subcontractor, you need to know and understand these changes.
